My To Read is Getting TOO LONG!

Hello again.  I have been working my way through your comments, but there are a lot of you, and my internet isn’t the best here.  Sorry if I haven’t replied to you yet. I might be too busy reading Harry Potter.

A few things about my blog. I will probably try out a bunch of different themes (that means the way it looks) before I settle on one.  So if you can’t find something, or you like one look better than another, let me know.  Like I said in my last post, this is the first year I have used edublogs.  I have always used kidblogs before, so I don’t know as much about this one.  It has a lot of good getting started guides, so I’m sure we will figure it out.  The challenge should help a lot in teaching us what to do.  Has everyone signed up for the challenge? If not, go and sign up!  I think they do not want you to put your last name, so if you used your last name in your username or blog title, you should see if there is a way to edit it out.

So in the last post, a lot of your comments talked about other good series or books I should read.  A lot of people suggested the Alex Rider series.  I have read some of the first one, but didn’t get a chance to finish it. I used to have almost all of them in my classroom library, but I think many of them are gone now.  I have read the Percy Jackson series, but not the Heroes of Olympus or any other Rick Riordan books. I’m sure I would like them though, since I enjoyed the Percy Jackson series.  I LOVE The Hunger Games series.  I also would recommend Suzanne Collins’ other series, Gregor the Overlander.  There is more of a fantasy element to them, but they are great.  I have only read Divergent, although I watched the second movie while I’ve been up here.  That is one where it is still on my “to-read” list. Among the Hidden is another series I would like to read.  I read The Hobbit when I was in 8th grade, but I haven’t read any of his other books. I did like it, so maybe they should go on my “to-read” list.  Man, that list is getting LONG!!!  You guys also told me about some authors and books I hadn’t heard of.  I’ll have to go through and keep adding to my long list. I have read a couple of John Green books, but want to read more.  I also want to read some Stephen King. I’ve read some Dean Koontz books, but never any Stephen King.  I’m not sure why because I LOVE horror.

If you are ever trying to find something new to read, here is a great site: What Should I Read Next?  You put in a book you like and then it gives you new recommendations.  Maybe I’ll make my “to-read” list 100 books long!

I saw that you were reading the Harry Potter series, I personally loved them all! My daughter (26 yrs. old) still can’t get enough…they first came out when she was in elementary and she ate them up. I look forward to working with you all.
